Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Updates
EHS Medical Group Fresno received its first member in February 2009 and is currently
responsible for more than 40,000 beneficiaries in Fresno County. As part of establishing
our presence, EHS rented space in downtown Fresno, hired staff (initially James
"JR" Richardson, with more on the way), and began a comprehensive training calendar
to help provider offices prepare for the changeover from Blue Cross direct to Blue
Cross through EHS-Fresno. We are also continuing to develop and expand our contracted
physician network.
Provider trainings have included group trainings in our Fresno classroom, as well
as off-site meetings for multi-location providers such as Children’s Hospital, United
Health Centers and others. To date, more than 160 physician and provider office
staff attended these meetings. For those unable to attend one of our sessions, our
EHS staff will conduct trainings in the physician or provider office.
In all of these sessions, we train both providers and staff on our HIPAA-compliant
secure web portal –
www.synermedconnect.com
– which allows users to check eligibility, submit authorizations and claims electronically,
and check status of their activities.
We are pleased to say that we now have more than 250 Fresno County registered users
representing more than 160 physician and provider offices on SynerMedConnect, and
we will continue this process to ensure that all EHS-Fresno physicians and provider
offices are comfortable with our system.
We are also committed to continuing our integration into the community. For example,
EHS-Fresno was a sponsor of the April 2009 pediatric CME conference
"Rattled
with All Your Work" put on by the UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education
and Research. We look forward to sponsoring additional opportunities in Fresno in
the future.
